A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan and Cinsault Ch. Musar is unique in that they age the varieties separately in barrels for three years before blending and then ageing the blend for another four years prior to release. As is widely known, the wines of Ch. Musar are extremely long-lived, with the best examples lasting for 20-30 years.
We were delighted for the opportunity to taste the newly released 2012 vintage at Seckford last month and we were very impressed by the latest offering, a classic Ch. Musar.

Chateau Musar Red 2012 has a dark burgundy colour, a nose of matured stone fruits, plums and figs with liquorice and spicy notes. It has big developed ripe fruit on the nose and a bold taste profile of juicy, black fruits plus mocha and leather and a beautiful lingering finish. 14.5% Alc./Vol.
