An inland port in South West France, Bordeaux gives its name to probably the most famous of wine regions. Boasting more than 60 subregions or appellations, the 120,000 hectares under vine produce some of the finest wines in the world - the riches here are as bountiful as they are varied - every conceivable style of wine is produced from dry, crisp whites, to sticky sweet liquid gold and of course the benchmark classic red Bordeaux, such as Lafite, Latour, Margaux, Mouton and Haut-Brion and other stars such as Petrus, Le Pin, Cheval Blanc and Vieux Château Certan, the A-list goes on!
