Seckford is in a unique position, being one of very few merchants in the UK to have its own bonded warehouse, located near Woodbridge in Suffolk. No third parties are involved so we have absolute control of our wine storage. You can also store your wines with us that have been bought from other suppliers.
Quality storage
Temperature controlled warehouses providing the ideal environment for long-term wine storage. Average temperature in the warehouse is 12 degrees C. Humidity is about 60 - 70%.
Competitive storage charges
Which include insurance at full replacement value. No hidden receiving, handling or picking charges.
Security
All cases are clearly marked as the property of the owner with the customers’ name and account number, as well as being identified individually on our computer system that is overseen by HM Customs & Excise. No stock can be removed without written permission from the customer.

Online facility
Storage customers can view their stock holdings with us on-line and manage their own stocks electronically.
In 1997 we built our own temperature controlled bonded warehouse adjacent to our offices. This put us in a unique position, being one of very few wine merchants in the UK to own and run their own bond.
Storage Conditions
All wine is kept in our temperature controlled warehouses in Suffolk providing the ideal environment for long-term wine storage.
Average temperature in the warehouse is 12 degrees C. Humidity is between 60 & 70%.
Security
Our warehouse is an HM Customs & Excise approved warehouse and therefore governed by their strict code of practice. To obtain this license we also have to be of sound financial backing.
All cases are clearly marked as the property of the owner with the customers' name and account number, as well as being identified individually on our computer system. This will safeguard your wines in the event of Seckford going into liquidation.
As we own the bond we have absolute control of storage. Unlike many of our competitors, no third parties are involved. This is an important consideration for clients wishing to store wine with us.

Rental
£12.00 (£10.00 excl. VAT) per 12x75cl case per annum. £48 minimum storage charge (£40 excl. VAT). All other case sizes are charged on a pro-rata basis, with a minimum charge of 3 bottles per line/rotation, which is £3.00 (£2.50 excl. VAT).
Storage is charged annually in advance from the 1st January to 31st December. Wines received during the year will be charged pro-rata.
Insurance
Insurance at replacement value is included in the storage charge. See out T&Cs for more details.

Receiving & Handling
There is no charge for receiving & handling but if a case arrives and is withdrawn in the same calendar year a full year’s storage charge will be levied on that case.

Is my wine insured?
Wine in storage is insured at replacement value. This is included in the annual storage charge.
How do I withdraw wine from storage?
This can be done through your online portfolio or emailing John Ireland johni@seckfordwines.co.uk with your delivery requirements.
When can I expect my wines to be delivered?
Once the delivery invoice has been settled we will arrange a convenient time to deliver.
How do I set up a storage account?
To set up a storage account all we need is your contact address, email & telephone number. Prior to setting up an account, please make sure you have read and are happy with our storage T&Cs.
What information do I need to provide for wine destined for storage but purchased from another merchant?
A list of the wines and confirmation of any in bond values. This can be in the form of copy invoices or a portfolio list provided by your current wine storage provider.
Is every case opened and checked on arrival?
Cases are not opened and checked on arrival only if the exterior of the case is damaged or if there is a need to verify the contents. This is done at the discretion of our warehouse team.
