Vinous Neal Martin - 01 Nov 18
The 2015 Morey-Saint-Denis Clos de la Bussières 1er Cru displays heavy reduction on the nose that obscures the fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin, and quite animally in style but full of character, though the finish does not quite deliver the definition and vigor that I would have liked. Give it another two or three years and it may match my bracketed score from barrel. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Morey-Saint-Denis Fine Wine

Morey-Saint-Denis

Morey-Saint-Denis, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is known for its elegant, well-structured Pinot Noir wines that balance the power of Gevrey-Chambertin and the finesse of Chambolle-Musigny. These wines feature flavours of red and black fruits, earthy spices, and floral notes, with refined tannins and excellent ageing potential. Home to five Grand Cru vineyards, including Clos de Tart and Clos Saint-Denis, top producers like Domaine Dujac, Domaine Ponsot, and Domaine des Lambrays are celebrated for their traditional winemaking and expressive wines.
