Tasting Notes

Vinous Antonio Galloni - 01 Jan 14
There is plenty of brawn and intensity in the 2012 Clos Vougeot. A big, broad-shouldered frame opens to reveal dark raspberry, menthol grilled herbs, smoke and spices. The 2012 is a bit sauvage, but is nevertheless hugely intriguing. It should be fabulous in a few years, once the tannins start melting away a bit, although it will always remain brawny and a bit of a brute.
