Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Mar 17
(Lignier is the largest owner in this premier cru and made 15 barrels of Faconnières in 2014): Good dark red. Subdued but pure aromas of raspberry, espresso and Indian spices. Still a bit youthfully imploded but concentrated and vibrant, showing lovely definition to its berry, mineral and spice flavors. In a distinctly elegant style, with very well-judged use of stems. Finishing firm, lively and long, this wine makes the young 2015 version seem heavy by comparison.

Morey-Saint-Denis Fine Wine

Morey-Saint-Denis

Morey-Saint-Denis, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is known for its elegant, well-structured Pinot Noir wines that balance the power of Gevrey-Chambertin and the finesse of Chambolle-Musigny. These wines feature flavours of red and black fruits, earthy spices, and floral notes, with refined tannins and excellent ageing potential. Home to five Grand Cru vineyards, including Clos de Tart and Clos Saint-Denis, top producers like Domaine Dujac, Domaine Ponsot, and Domaine des Lambrays are celebrated for their traditional winemaking and expressive wines.
