Tasting Notes

Vinous Joaquin Hidalgo - 16 Nov 23
The 2011 Aalto hails from Ribera del Duero and was aged for up to 20 months in barrels, 50% of them new French oak and the remainder used French and American oak. Garnet-red with a brick-dust sheen. It offers notes of herbs and thyme alongside sour cherry and plum jam while a bouquet develops in the background. Indulgent and velvety with faintly reactive tannins and subtle freshness, this is a rich, bold Ribera red.
