Tasting Notes

89-92
Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Nov 00
Full ruby-red. Reduced nose hints at cherry, marzipan, licorice, underbrush and oak. Lush and chewy on entry but dominated by its backbone today and rather unforthcoming in the middle palate. Finishes with grainy, slightly tough tannins. At least as backward as the Marenca, but appears to have more extract.

Barolo Vineyard Fine Wine

Barolo

Barolo, the "King of Wines," is a prestigious red from Piedmont, Italy, made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. Known for deep complexity, Barolo offers rich flavours of dark cherries, roses, truffles, and spices, with high acidity and firm tannins. It ages exceptionally well, evolving in depth and nuance. Barolo's diverse terroirs create a range of styles, from powerful to delicate. Top producers include Gaja, Bruno Giacosa, Giuseppe Rinaldi, and Marchesi di Barolo, all of whom exemplify Barolo's tradition and quality.
