Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Mar 02
Deep, bright ruby. Explosively spicy aromas of blackberry, violet, bitter chocolate and minerals. Sappy, penetrating flavors of dark berries and minerals; dense but sharply delineated, with lovely vibrant fruit intensity. Very long, fruit-driven aftertaste. Possesses more thrust and grip than the domain 2000s. Bertrand Chevillon thinks this wine will close up in the bottle in the near future.

Nuits-Saint-Georges

Nuits-Saint-Georges, a renowned appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is famous for its robust, structured Pinot Noir wines with rich flavours of dark cherries, blackberries, and plums, along with earthy, spicy notes. Known for firm tannins and full-bodied character, these wines are ideal for ageing. Although lacking Grand Cru vineyards, Premier Cru sites like Les Saint-Georges and Les Vaucrains produce exceptional wines. Top producers include Domaine Henri Gouges, Domaine Faiveley, and Domaine Robert Chevillon, all celebrated for showcasing the unique terroir with traditional winemaking.
