Tasting Notes

91
Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Mar 14
(vinified with 50% whole clusters): Deep, bright ruby-red. Superripe black cherry, crushed blackberry, pepper, herbs, licorice and cardamom on the nose. Very ripe, thick and sweet; almost jammy for 2011 but has sufficient energy to maintain its balance. Big, rich and long wine, finishing with a supple dusting of tannins and surprising acidity. In a rather extractive style.

Chambolle-Musigny

Chambolle-Musigny, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is renowned for its elegant, aromatic Pinot Noir wines. Known for their finesse and complex aromas of red berries, violets, and earth, these wines are often described as the most "feminine" of Burgundy. The appellation's two Grand Cru vineyards, Bonnes Mares and Musigny, produce highly sought-after wines with depth and ageing potential. Notable producers include Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Domaine Georges Roumier, and Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, all celebrated for their refined winemaking.
