Vinous Antonio Galloni - 01 Oct 17
The 2014 Barbaresco Montaribaldi is just as impressive from bottle as it was from barrel, not to mention a more than worthy follow up to the 2013. Wonderfully deep and layered, the 2014 possesses remarkable inner sweetness and resonance, with sweet, silky tannins (for a young Barbaresco) and captivating balance. A wine of total allure, the Montaribaldi simply has it all. Don't miss it.

Barbaresco

Barbaresco, a prestigious red from Piedmont, Italy, is made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. Known as the “Queen” of Piedmont wines, it offers elegance and aromatic complexity with flavours of red cherries, raspberries, roses, and earthy notes. Its well-integrated tannins and vibrant acidity enhance its ageing potential. With calcareous soils and favourable microclimates, Barbaresco is a more approachable alternative to Barolo. Top producers include Gaja, Produttori del Barbaresco, Bruno Giacosa, and Pio Cesare, who exemplify its refined character.
