Vinous Antonio Galloni - 01 Feb 20
Fenocchio's 2016 Barolo Cannubi is fabulous. Rich and sumptuous, yet with plenty of structure, the Cannubi dazzles from the very first taste. Rose petal, sweet red cherry, mint, blood orange and incense are some of the many notes that lift from the glass. On the palate, the Cannubi impresses with its sense of vertical structure and gravitas. The trademark sensuality of Cannubi meets a classically austere style. The 2016 is a wonderfully complete Barolo. I loved it.

Barolo

Barolo, the "King of Wines," is a prestigious red from Piedmont, Italy, made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. Known for deep complexity, Barolo offers rich flavours of dark cherries, roses, truffles, and spices, with high acidity and firm tannins. It ages exceptionally well, evolving in depth and nuance. Barolo's diverse terroirs create a range of styles, from powerful to delicate. Top producers include Gaja, Bruno Giacosa, Giuseppe Rinaldi, and Marchesi di Barolo, all of whom exemplify Barolo's tradition and quality.
