Tasting Notes

91
Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Jan 18
(13.5% alcohol; 30% vendange entier; 4.3 g/l tartaric acidity at décuvage): Bright, dark red. Wild, vaguely gamey aromas of black raspberry, tobacco, smoke, graphite and earth. Wonderfully fine-grained, classically dry and energetic, with its dark raspberry and saline mineral flavors accompanied by a note of chimney smoke. Finishes with building tongue-dusting tannins and excellent savory persistence. Not an easy style, but this distinctly soil-driven wine leaves the taste buds quivering.
