The 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis Très Girard has a perfumed blackberry, cranberry and briar bouquet that you might describe as très Morey. The palate is fresh and bright with crunchy black fruit; a light black olive influence develops with aeration. There is 40% whole bunches here, lending the finish a subtle earthiness and a little more persistence. Very promising.

Morey-Saint-Denis

Morey-Saint-Denis, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is known for its elegant, well-structured Pinot Noir wines that balance the power of Gevrey-Chambertin and the finesse of Chambolle-Musigny. These wines feature flavours of red and black fruits, earthy spices, and floral notes, with refined tannins and excellent ageing potential. Home to five Grand Cru vineyards, including Clos de Tart and Clos Saint-Denis, top producers like Domaine Dujac, Domaine Ponsot, and Domaine des Lambrays are celebrated for their traditional winemaking and expressive wines.
