The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes includes 80% whole bunches. Somehow, I find this a little subdued following the more effervescent Bourgogne Rouge. Maybe just going through a dumb phase? The palate is much more expressive with quite a layered blackberry and raspberry core. White pepper and tea leaves appear toward the firm finish. Give this two or three years in bottle.

Chambolle-Musigny Vineyard Fine Wine

Chambolle-Musigny

Chambolle-Musigny, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is renowned for its elegant, aromatic Pinot Noir wines. Known for their finesse and complex aromas of red berries, violets, and earth, these wines are often described as the most "feminine" of Burgundy. The appellation's two Grand Cru vineyards, Bonnes Mares and Musigny, produce highly sought-after wines with depth and ageing potential. Notable producers include Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Domaine Georges Roumier, and Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, all celebrated for their refined winemaking.
