The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Clos de l'Orme is one cuvée where I felt there was a little sur-maturité with touches of fig and dates infusing the red fruit. The palate is succulent and very ripe, though the acidity maintains the freshness. Quite dense towards the finish, I would just like to see a little more terroir expression here.

Chambolle-Musigny

Chambolle-Musigny, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is renowned for its elegant, aromatic Pinot Noir wines. Known for their finesse and complex aromas of red berries, violets, and earth, these wines are often described as the most "feminine" of Burgundy. The appellation's two Grand Cru vineyards, Bonnes Mares and Musigny, produce highly sought-after wines with depth and ageing potential. Notable producers include Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Domaine Georges Roumier, and Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, all celebrated for their refined winemaking.
