This is the property that is virtually next door to Château Haut-Bailly, and was bought by Robert G. Wilmers in 2012. It is mostly planted to Merlot, whereas Haut-Bailly is mainly planted to Cabernet Sauvignon.
Benefiting from the experience & expertise of Haut-Bailly’s team, the vineyard at Château Le Pape has continued to thrive & build its unique personality vintage after vintage. The wines have gained in depth & length, while retaining their characteristic freshness.
The detailed work of renovating the vineyard - which has been ongoing since 2012 - has once again paid off in this vintage. The wine is more structured & increasingly elegant, with a lovely richness.
The blend of Château Le Pape 2019 "is highlighted by soft & generous Merlots with polished full tannins that offer a beautiful density."
