Vinous Neal Martin - 01 Sep 20
The 2019 Chablis Village comes from 40-year-old vines and sees 8–18 months in stainless steel vat. It has a generous, well-defined nose of red apples, lemon curd and honeysuckle. The palate is crisp and taut, with a fine bead of acidity, and quite saline and punchy toward the finish. A lively, quite generous Chablis of commendable length.

Chablis

Chablis, the northernmost Burgundy region, is famed for its crisp, mineral-driven Chardonnay wines. Unlike rich, oaky Chardonnays, Chablis wines, influenced by the cool climate and limestone-rich soils, feature vibrant acidity and flavours of green apple, citrus, and flint. Ideal with seafood, especially oysters, Chablis wines come in four appellations: Petit Chablis, Chablis, Chablis Premier Cru, and Chablis Grand Cru. Esteemed producers like Domaine William Fèvre, François Raveneau, and Vincent Dauvissat are known for their classic, terroir-expressive wines.
