The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Chatelots 1er Cru was another cuvée showing some reduction on the nose, although I feel that underneath that veil of SO2 the fruit is truer to Chambolle compared to the Lavrottes. The palate vindicates that. Attractive red berry fruit, supple in texture, fine acidity, still a little confit-like on the finish though with better delineation and more freshness. Fine.

Chambolle-Musigny

Chambolle-Musigny, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is renowned for its elegant, aromatic Pinot Noir wines. Known for their finesse and complex aromas of red berries, violets, and earth, these wines are often described as the most "feminine" of Burgundy. The appellation's two Grand Cru vineyards, Bonnes Mares and Musigny, produce highly sought-after wines with depth and ageing potential. Notable producers include Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Domaine Georges Roumier, and Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, all celebrated for their refined winemaking.
