Vinous Neal Martin - 01 Sep 23
The 2022 Chablis Beauroy 1er Cru is surprisingly austere on the nose, lacking the fruit intensity of its peers. The palate is better with fine acidity, praline-tinged citrus fruit, orange rind and melon towards the finish. It picks up the pace towards the end, though the aromatics need to give more and complete the picture.

Chablis

Chablis, the northernmost Burgundy region, is famed for its crisp, mineral-driven Chardonnay wines. Unlike rich, oaky Chardonnays, Chablis wines, influenced by the cool climate and limestone-rich soils, feature vibrant acidity and flavours of green apple, citrus, and flint. Ideal with seafood, especially oysters, Chablis wines come in four appellations: Petit Chablis, Chablis, Chablis Premier Cru, and Chablis Grand Cru. Esteemed producers like Domaine William Fèvre, François Raveneau, and Vincent Dauvissat are known for their classic, terroir-expressive wines.
