Domaine Marquis d'Angerville

Domaine Marquis d'Angerville is without doubt one of the finest estates in Burgundy and has a host of top vineyards centred around the village of Volnay.

Formerly part owned by the Dukes of Burgundy the 12 hectare domaine is almost all Premier Cru. Family owned for over two centuries the current Marquis, Guillaume d’Angerville took over from his father in 2003. 

The domaine started its transition to Biodynamic winemaking in 2006 and is now fully organic and biodynamic, they produce small grapes which gives extraordinary concentration of flavour.

Ageing 25% new oak for 18 months and bottling without fining or filtration makes the wines produced perfect for long term ageing and beguiling once fully mature.

An incredibly complex, fresh and seductively perfumed nose offers up a wonderfully layered set of ripe red berry fruit, cassis, mineral and spice aromas that introduce sappy and lacy yet serious middle weight flavors that possess both excellent power and fine volume, all wrapped in a magnificently long finish. The tannins are quite firm yet they're also well-integrated as the abundant dry extract pushes them to the background. In a word, sensational.
