Spain
Spain has long been a source of inexpensive table reds, with Rioja the only region regarded as making fine wines. That has changed, with wines from the Ribera del Duero and Priorat coming to the fore. The wonderfully fresh white wines of Rueda and Rías Baixas are also worth noting (and who could turn down a glass of Txakoli?!); fantastic with the local seafood. Vega Sicilia is the leading fine wine of Spain, with its flagship Unico release spiking collectors interest.
