2017 Louis Boillot Beaujolais
Josh Raynolds of Vinous Media's article on the extraordinary value that Beaujolais has to offer was published last week and we are delighted to see Louis Boillot's wines being scored and written up so finely. He is a producer on the up and his 2017's are simply superb.
Across the region 2017 yields were cut due to hail, but what wine has been made is fresh, opulent and beautiful to drink now, but will age gracefully should one be able to resist!
Louis is really excited about the potential in Moulin a Vent particularly and for the Beaujolais Crus in general, and we couldn't agree more. Newly arrived we have re-tasted these and we were blown away by the quality. They are seriously good value for money.

92 Points (Vinous Media)
Vivid magenta. Spice-accented blackberry and cherry aromas, along with a sexy floral topnote that builds as the wine opens up. Seamless and energetic on the palate, offering alluringly sharply delineated red/blue fruit, spice cake and rose pastille flavors that smoothly blend depth and finesse. Fine-grained tannins build slowly on a very long, sharply detailed finish that shows excellent clarity and a smoky mineral quality.
2017 Moulin a Vent Plantiers de Favre
£260 per 12 bottles delivered to you.(£175/12 In bond.)
92 Points (Vinous Media)
Brilliant ruby-red. Heady, mineral-accented cherry, blueberry and floral pastille scents are complemented by hints of exotic spices and licorice. Offers sappy, impressively concentrated dark berry and bitter cherry flavors that pick up a smoky nuance as the wine opens up. For its heft there's welcome liveliness here as well. Finishes very long and sweet, with youthfully firm tannins and an echo of ripe dark fruit.
